The National Conference on Family Health and Natal Health

The Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences, under the auspices of the Romanian Academy, is organizing the 2nd edition of the National Conference on Family Health and Natal Health, a scientific event that will take place from May 15th to 17th, 2024, in Cluj-Napoca. The conference proceedings will be held at the UBB Cluj-Napoca premises on Emmanuel de Martonne Street, No. 1.

The aim is to highlight the main aspects regarding the decline in natality, given the worrying demographic phenomenon, the continuous and significant decrease in Romania’s population due to the pronounced reduction in natality and population aging.

The conference aims to sound an alarm about the serious medium- and long-term consequences of depopulation at the national level, through a multidisciplinary approach to family health and natality, starting from the medical dimension of this phenomenon and continuing with its psychological, anthropological, sociological, demographic, economic, and legislative aspects.

The outcomes of the conference can contribute to the formulation of complementary proposals for present and future public policies regarding the phenomenon of declining natality and ways to mitigate it, thus ensuring the demographic future of the country. “How do we ensure the demographic future of the nation?” is the question we will try to answer with the input of the lecturers participating in this national scientific event.
